The mushroom anchor is suitable where the seabed is composed of silt or fine sand. It is shaped like an inverted mushroom, the head becoming buried in the silt. A counterweight is often provided at the other end of the shank to lay it down before it becomes buried. A mushroom anchor will normally sink in the silt to the point where it has displaced its own weight in bottom material. These anchors are only suitable for a silt or mud bottom, since they rely upon suction and cohesion of the bottom material, which rocky or coarse sand bottoms lack. The holding power of this anchor is at best about twice its weight unless it becomes buried, when it can be as much as ten times its weight

Granite mooring blocks are constructed of granite blocks and 1-¼ inch thick steel staples to secure the chain to. These moorings can be used in most seabed situations, but commonly used in rocky areas where mushroom anchors cannot be used. (CBM,LLC never uses concrete blocks in salt water; they deteriorate more quickly and have less holding power)

A swivel is a connection that allows the connected object to rotate horizontally and/or vertically. A common design for a swivel is a cylindrical rod that can turn freely within a support structure. The rod is usually prevented from slipping out by a nut, washer or thickening of the rod. The device can be attached to the ends of the rod or the center. (CBM,LLC only uses domestic Eye-in-Eye swivels.)
A shackle is a U-shaped piece of metal secured with a pin or bolt across the opening, or a hinged metal loop secured with a quick-release locking pin mechanism. They are used as a connecting link in all manner of rigging systems, from boats and ships, to industrial crane rigging. As an automotive term, it refers to a link connecting the leaf spring to the frame. (CBM,LLC only uses domestic shackles.)
A chain is a series of connected links, usually made of metal. CBM,LLC only uses domestic long-link chain which allows for repairs to be made and usually has a longer life than imported chain.
Poly-vinyl Buoys are inflatable mooring buoys used to mark mooring locations and float the chain or rope.
Thimbles are used to splice rope around and enable it to be shackled into chain. CBM,LLC uses heavy gauge galvanized thimbles on mooring pendants. Stainless thimbles are available upon request.
MAST-BUOY - floatation device which can be tied to the eye of a pannant which enables crew members to pick up a pennant without using a gaffing hook.

HEAVY BOTTOM CHAIN- Large chain at least one inch in diameter which we use as the section of chain closest to the eye of the mushroom or block. This heavy chain adds weight to your moorings holding power, keeps mushroom anchors tipped over on their side and lenghtens the life of the eye of the mushroom or staple on a granite block.

EZ MOORE - This mooring buoy is an alternative to the traditional style buoy and pennant system. This buoy sits upright in the water with a pvc shaft that has a thimble eye at the top. This buoy system allows boaters to pass their pennant through the eye when morring their boat and take their pennant with them when they leave their mooring.

WINTER TOGGLE - This hard plastic floatation device is used with rope to mark a mooring for the winter. It is an alternative to the wooden winter stick or "spar". We mark these with numbers and record the GPS each time winterize a mooring.
HELIX MOORING - A helix mooring is an embedment style mooring which gets
screwed into the ocean floor.
